Ozone therapy

Ozone therapy is a type of alternative medical treatment that involves the use of ozone gas to promote healing and wellness. Ozoned is a highly reactive gas composed of three oxygen atoms (O3), which can be generated by passing medical-grade oxygen through an electrical field.

During ozoned therapy, ozone gas is administered to the body in various ways, including:

1. Direct injection: Ozoned gas is injected directly into the affected area of the body, such as a joint or muscle.
2. Autohemotherapy: A small amount of the patient’s blood is removed, mixed with ozone gas, and then reinfused into the body.
3. Ozonated water: Water is infused with ozoned gas and used for various purposes, such as washing wounds or administering rectal or vaginal treatments.
4. Ozone sauna: The patient sits in a sauna while ozone gas is infused into the air.

Proponents of ozone therapy claim that it can improve various health conditions, including infections, inflammation, immune disorders, and cancer. They also suggest that ozone therapy can enhance circulation, increase oxygen delivery to tissues, and stimulate the production of antioxidants.

However, there is limited scientific evidence to support the effectiveness and safety of  ozones therapy. Some studies have shown potential benefits for certain conditions, such as chronic wounds and dental infections. However, there are also risks associated with ozoned therapy, including the potential for respiratory irritation, oxidative stress, and blood clotting.

Furthermore, ozone therapy is not widely accepted by mainstream medical organizations and is not currently approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for medical use. Patients considering ozoned therapy should discuss the potential risks and benefits with a qualified healthcare provider before pursuing this treatment.
